Yikes!

For the last year, I have devoted countless hours to developing a website and blog that would help young people like me feel comfortable in most social situations. Whether they were going for an interview or crafting an appropriate email, I wanted to touch on it all. Not because I am some expert but because I knew the information needed to be shared.

The crazy thing is that I still get nervous when put in most of these situations, even though I usually know what to do. I overthink and want to be remembered as polished and thorough. I'm still trying to make a name for myself so every interaction is vital.

Next week, I am going to this "coaching/networking" event where I will get to participate in a sort of professional speed date with successful women in my community and I am freaking out! I am planning what to wear, what to say, researching the women and making sure I have plenty of business cards.

I'm saying all of this to say, no matter how well you prepare, the initial stress of going into an unfamiliar situation can set in. Never fear, we are created to be awesome and take on the world. So I'm going to look into the mirror give myself a smile, put on my pencil skirt, blouse and heels and make it happen. (Either way, they were in my shoes once too.)

Ready, set, go!
